Fox,
We have finished another prototype, this one is a little different layout of the DRE. I drew up the new engine layout and started machining it on November 12th and we completed it by November 26th. I and my two sons that work for me did not get much work done for those two weeks! LOL We have ran it long enough to make sure everything is broke in and functioning properly. Last Wednesday we disassembled it and are now going over everything to make sure nothing is self destructing. I had made plans to work on it this weekend but my shop is without power. We have power lines down all over North Texas from the ice. We are going to put it back together and put it in a car, although this is not necessary for testing I would really like to drive a car with my engine in it. My oldest son is updating our website, it should be ready in a few weeks.
I will let you know when our new website is up and running.

Hi Lonny,
Amazing, 14 days only and done! Congratulation.
Do you have a dyno? Even a simple one?
Will wait patient less for more details.
Doing it alone!...... No matter how good or useful your engine will perform, for me, you and your family are heroes.
Thanks

Thanks fox,
We have both an engine and chassis dynometer available to use for testing at the race engine machine shop that I use to work at.
This whole weekend was a bust, my machine shop just got electricity back on a couple of hours ago.
Hopefully this weekend will be better.
On a different note, have the Scuderis said anything about building a conventional engine instead of a split cycle design. The engine animation on their website is no longer a split cycle, it has three conventional four stroke cylinders and one that is used as compression only. It also uses a turbo charger. The engine should run really well and be quite powerful but I don't think it will be very efficient. I do think it will allow them to use the air hybrid system, this could be useful for better fuel economy during city driving. I wonder if this is the design they are going to use with the power generation companies?
If y'all have any information about the Scuderi's direction I would like to know as long as it is not private info.
Thanks Lonny

Lonny,
It seems that Scuderi web animated engine is still a split cycle engine in which one intake and compression cylinder feeds three power and exhaust cylinders.
Since the air is partially compressed and they go for miller cycle, it makes sense.
By the way, the third power piston is 180 degrees phased out of balancing reasons.

I just took another look at the animation, the first piston pulls in air that has been compressed by a turbo charger and then compresses it into a manifold that connects to the intake of the other three cylinders. Each of the other three pistons have an intake, compression, power and exhaust stroke. The center two are timed 360 degrees out of phase and the last is timed with the pre compression piston and they are down when the other two are up. You are correct that they time the stroke this way for balance reasons.
This engine design will run like a very super charged conventional engine. It is possible that the animation is not a true representation of their current direction. It would be interesting to know though.

Merry Christmas,
2014 of course will be another great year for Scuderi. With many promises, a truckload of memorandums of understanding and an IPO just around the corner.

Hallo guys, Merry Christmas, My wish is that during 2014, a split cycle engine, any of those enthusiastic people are working on, will be proven as a technologic and economic success. Personally I truly believe it is going to happen and going to happen soon.

Hallo Lonny,
Any news in regard to your engine progress ?
By the way, could you please describe some details about your shop capabilities ?
